The Library - A Reimagined Space
HISTORICALLY, the public library in the Shalom Tower, located in the heart of Tel Aviv, served the Tel Aviv community for many years as a hub of knowledge and independent education. However, in our technological age, it had become an underused space, with people finding more information online and referring less to the library’s shelves. That’s why, in November of 2011, The Library was launched. By converting a portion of the public library into a space dedicated to entrepreneurs, the library’s traditional values of knowledge, education and curiosity were translated and infused with technological innovation and startup energy. TODAY, The Library is managed by the Young Adults Unit of the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality. The Library provides a co-working space and facilities for teams dedicated to developing Internet startups and technology companies. In addition, The Library offers networking events, Meetups and professional infrastructure for young technological visionaries. Above all else, The Library plays an integral role in strengthening Tel Aviv’s startup ecosystem. |
